It was inaugurated in 1996 as a result of the Palestinian society's need of development.  Development that can be tangible via graduating well-qualified specialists in various specializations in order to take part in the community.

 

The period of study:

 

It's four semesters –two years-

The Board of Trustees:

It's the university reprehensive in various official, scientific and national fields.  It's authorized to purchase, sell, accept funds and give loans.  It also represents the university in the jurisdictions.

The board of trustees has the authority to:

 

1-     Put the general polices for the university and monitor the implementation of these polices according to the authentic Palestinian general rules.

2-     Support and protect the university's independence, do whatever important in elevating it's level and achieving the university's goals.

3-     Bring the needed funds for the university.

4-     Reckon the annual budget and the fiscal year.

 

The Faculty Council:

 

The dean of the faculty holds the responsibility to run the university and the faculty council helps him.  The dean is responsible for the administrative, scientific and financial affairs, thus he's authorized to do whatever he sees beneficial for the university.
